This is my “baby”…who is actually 3 1/2. He is so silly, sweet, and adorable (of course I am a bit biased From the day he was born he attached himself to a blankie that was made for him, and to this day that blankie is still very special to him. ”Baby blankie”, as he calls it, is starting to get holes in it after 3.5 years of use…and I figured I better get a couple pictures of him with it before he gets any bigger and “Baby blankie” gets any more holes…

The colors seemed to have changed so early this year, and I was afraid I wouldn’t the chance to take the boys out for a few pictures. So today I packed up what I needed, took Evan to go pick up Nicholas from the bus stop and headed to the park. Only when I got there I realized I forgot to pack Nicholas’ pants, and he wore sweatpants to school today. So I took a couple where we were able to disguise what he was wearing, but ended up taking more of Evan while Nicholas danced behind me to get him to laugh!

I was very honored that this image was chosen as a winner in a Cover Image challenge for one of my professional photography forums! This is my two little guys when we were on vacation up north. I love how it shows how fiercely Evan loves Nicholas, and how Nicholas always tries to protect his little brother I am so excited that I won a canvas of this image so I can hang it in my home!

This is the black and white version (the contest requires all submissions to be in black and white).

We spent the week with my parents at Panama City Beach Florida for a fantastic week of sun and fun! The boys loved playing on the beach, swimming in the pool, and of course going miniature golfing and go-karting! PCB is one of my favorite places to vacation with the white sand beaches and gorgeous sunsets.

The weather was perfect while we there – not a day that wasn’t sunny! Nicholas really progressed with his swimming, and Evan even made progress in the pool bobbing around in his life jacket. By the end of the week he was kicking and trying to swim just like his big brother. The kids also loved the beach restaurants – Evan got a little crazy about Pinneaple Willy’s and Nicholas loved Sharky’s!

And no, Steve and I are not in any of the pictures. I wasn’t because I was of course the one behind the camera, and Steve ran every time I pointed it at him! Next time we are adding a professional photography session to our vacation budget – I would love to have a beach session with my kids some day!

All in all, it was the perfect relaxing vacation! I will spare you from the hundreds of snapshots of the kids building sandcastles and jumping in the pool, and will just share a few of my favorites from the week

Yes, we have had an extremely warm winter this year, and the few times it has snowed I have never been able to get the kids out for some pictures before it melts! When I saw that the snow from yesterday was actually going to stick around, I was able to grab Evan and head out!

We had an almost 60 degree January day, and of course I took the opportunity to take the boys out for some pictures to catch the gorgeous golden winter sunset. In typical 2 year old fashion, Evan was not so interested…but Nicholas was more than happy to help his mom out

Just a couple from our annual trip to Eagle River. I will have lots more to share, but I love these few of Nicholas. They just say “summer” to me! Oh, and we caugh a beautiful sunset the night we were at our Holiday Lodge dinner (also an annual event!)

There are so many things I love about these picture.

1. I love summer. Those of you who know me know how much I love summer…so I try to cherish every beautiful day like this one!

2. What we photographers like to call “The Golden Hour”…which is the hour or so before sunset when the sun is getting low and you get beautiful golden hues and slight haze as in these pictures.

3. (…and most important of course…) I love love love these boys. More than life itself.
